STATEMENT FROM THE AEAF BOARD
It has fallen to us to close AEAF’s doors, and we do so with sadness and deep respect for those gifts of time, energy and unswerving commitment of all who preceded us; those whose vision and drive both created and sustained AEAF over the last 40 years. Through their labour and generosity AEAF has made a profound contribution to contemporary and experimental art, and to the careers of artists, curators and arts administrators Australia wide.
The passing of any vibrant, articulate and meaningful institution should give any community pause to reflect. That said, in closing AEAF’s doors we have made sure to open another, and look forward to sustaining contemporary and experimental art with the establishment of a new and vibrant organisation early in 2017.
